Glencoe | A Year in Pictures
Autumn – October, November and December
The 4th and final gallery of our Year in Pictures. Enjoy watching the colours change and perhaps the early snows arrive on the tops as winter approaches.
- We've discovered why the Ladies toilet is like a sauna. Seems the hot water pipe has sprung a leak somewhere under the floor. Could be a major nightmare - so put off till Monday. Wk 43 ends 31/10/14
- Looks like it's going to be another tough day at the office. Just which of these will make it onto the 2015 wine list? Decisions, decisions,... Wk 43 ends 31/10/14
- Driving up the A82 on Monday morning was a little weird. Very little traffic and virtually none northbound. All due to the closure of the A82 north of Onich. Wk 43 ends 31/10/14
- After an incredible amount of rain the clouds finally cleared, but it will take a while for the river levels to fall again. Wk 43 ends 31/10/14
- Extra-ordinary rainfall creates extra-ordinary problems. This was the A82 south of Fort William on Sunday morning. The road was closed for about 30 hours as a result. Wk 43 ends 31/10/14
- The latest additions to the gantry at Clachaig. We're learning all the time, and this selection of gin has been a real eye opener for us. Make sure you catch our next tasting in February. Wk 42 ends 24/10/14
- A big crowd at our first ever tasting focusing on Scottish gin. Great feedback from everyone and we look forward to the next session in February. Wk 42 ends 24/10/14
- A heavy shower bringing dark skies passing over from Loch Linnhe, but with a hint of brightness as it clears from the west. Wk 41 ends 17/10/14
- New to Clachaig for Octoberfest is a range of ciders from Scottish cider producer Thistly Cross. This one, matured in whisky casks is dangerously drinkable at 6.9% abv! Wk 41 ends 17/10/14
- Time for our annual autumn beer festival and the cellar is packed full of interesting beers - and ciders. Tempted? Wk 41ends 17/10/14
- Planning ahead for Octoberfest takes a fair bit of time - and space! Wk 41 ends 17/10/14
- The famous notched ridge, the Aonach Eagach, bathed in glorious autumn colours, highlighted by the morning light. Wk 40 ends 10/10/14.
- Driving from Kinlochleven to Fort William we caught this amazing light over what's known locally as Seagul Island on Loch Leven. Wk 40 ends 10/10/14.
- The morning light in the glen creates all sorts of interesting features and effects. Here's just one view, looking up the glen from Achtriochtan. Wk 40 ends 10/10/14.
- Seriously good fun! Try a canyoning trip down the Inchree Falls with local activity providers Vertical Descents. It's a scream! wk 40 ends 10/10/14
- The light on Loch Leven is always interesting. Try this early sunset view looking west towards the Pap of Glencoe. Wk 40 ends 10/10/14.
