Whisky Tasting Masterclass

Whisky tour of Benromach

Our Whisky Tastings are always different. Each time around we take a fresh view of things, and aim to mix things up a bit. After all, there are so many whiskies from so many distilleries and each one has its own unique character.

This year we have decided to move our Whisky tasting to a Friday night, as there were suggestions from previous guests that it would be nice not to be drinking lots of Whisky on a school night.

clachaig whisky glassThis October we will take you on a tour of Benromach right here in Glencoe. The Benromach distillery in Elgin is owned by Gordon and MacPhail. What makes Benromach unique is that they still make Whisky the old fashioned way, by hand. You won’t find any computers or even pressure gauges in their distillery, all you will find are four very talented distillers.

We’re delighted to welcome Jim Irvine from Scottish Whisky Merchants Gordon and MacPhail to guide us through an evening of Whisky. Availability for the October 2017 tasting pretty much sold out, so get your names down early for what promises to be one of these most educational and enjoyable evenings at Clachaig.

Limited places are available. Entry fee is £10.

On the night there will be a chance to buy a bottle of the Whiskies used in the tasting.

Pre-booking is strongly advised. Our evenings are relaxed and informal, and very unpretentious. An ideal opportunity to get to grips with what can appear to be a very daunting (but equally very pleasurable) part of Scottish culture. Book your place now by emailing us here, using the subject Octoberfest Whisky Tasting or phone us on 01855 811252.
