Winners of the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award, Talisk are one of the fastest rising bands on the British folk scene. Mohsen Amini (Concertina), Hayley Keenan (Fiddle) and Craig Irving (Guitar) come together to create an energetic and dynamic sound that in a short year, earned them multiple awards and a nomination for Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards.
Coupled with Mohsen’s recent crowning as the 2016 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, performances at world renowned festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, Cropredy Festival and Celtic Connections and live sessions on BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio 2, the trio’s experience far belies their year’s.
“Setting scary standards” – Simon Mayo, BBC Radio 2
“Extraordinary” – Mark Radcliffe (BBC Radio 2)
“The musicianship is phenomenal, the enthusiasm infectious” – Folk Radio UK
