Glencoe often looks spectacular on a crisp clear winter day. The only problem is being around to catch it! So here are a few photos of in and around Glencoe in winter.

Sustrans Cycle Route
Photos from the biking between Clachaig Inn, Glencoe and the Holly Tree Hotel, Kentallen Pier, on the new Sustrans Cycle Route. Much of the route - from Ballachulish roundabout onwards, utilises the bed of the defunct Ballachulish to Oban railway line.

Mountain Bike Rides from Lochaline
Photos of mountain bike riding based at Lochaline. Head over the Corran Ferry and follow the signs to the Isle of Mull. There are lots of tracks to explore down here, with everything from a tour of Loch Aline itself, round to the old castle on the point, to this ride up the road towards Drimnin and overlooking the Sound of Mull. More detailed route descriptions can be found on our Mountain Bike pages.

Biking at Glencoe Ski Centre - Glencoe Mountain Resort
Glencoe Mountain Resort has already got a reputation for mountain biking with a black downhill track already established. But there are plans to develop the biking further, and in particular, the weasel track. These photos were taken on an exploratory trip in June 2010.

Mountain Biking - Duror to Ballachulish
A few photos of the bike route described on our mountain biking pages, featuring the ride over from Duror, through the forest at Glen Duror and then over to come into Ballachulish by the back door. This could equally well be walked, though be warned, it can get a little boggy in parts!

Mountain Biking - Blackwater and the Ciaran Path
A selection of photos taken on the classic off road mountain bike ride at the back of Kinlochleven, close to Glencoe. This route climbs the road to Mamore Lodge, and then on to Rob Roy View. Heading off the Landrover track to Loch Eilde Mor, the route then follows the contour of the pipeline feeding the Blackwater Reservoir. From here on the going gets a little rougher and tougher, as it joins the Ciaran Path down the Leven Valley, past the old German POW camp and finally back into Kinlochleven.
